New Life Altar was a maternal styled shoot inspired by the work of Gregg Segal. The concept is tied to the day of the dead, but celebrating the birth of their new baby daughter. The couple wanted to document their first-time pregnancy in a meaningful way and to create an heirloom.
Different objects, offerings, and gifts were displayed harmoniously around the mother to welcome baby Amel into the world.
Everything on the altar has a special meaning to the couple, some of the objects represent accomplishments, some memories and many of these offerings have symbolic meanings of health, wealth, and guidance into the new world.
Ylimay is an Art Director, Brand Designer, Stylist & overall do'er based out of Brooklyn, New York. She creates unique worlds inspired by the magic of nature and of harmonious chaos.
